Introduction

Hello, I ‘m Paula, from Aberdeen, Scotland. Looking for a counsellor can feel like a big step, and you may be wondering whether counselling is right for you or whether I’m the right person to support you. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and how I work, so you can decide whether we’d be a good fit.

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be heard, accepted and understood without judgement. Counselling can offer the space to explore life’s challenges in a way that feels safe, supportive and meaningful. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply need somewhere to talk openly, counselling can offer the opportunity to explore what’s happening at a pace that feels right for you.

My counselling approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centred, recognising that every individual is unique. I work flexibly, tailoring our work together to meet your individual needs, experiences and goals.

My Background and Training

In 2022, I completed the COSCA accredited Counselling Skills course at the University of Aberdeen before going on to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working alongside individuals, families and children in community-based roles. Supporting people experiencing social exclusion, emotional difficulties and challenging life circumstances strengthened my belief in the importance of being truly heard and understood. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work today and reinforce my belief in the value of compassionate, person-centred support.
